Traditional IT practices have been replaced by new age technologies and business requirements. Gone are the days when a software release will happen twice a year, that too if you are lucky. Time to market and quick release of new software versions are forcing traditional software development methodologies to give way to new methodologies like AGILE, Rapid Application Development (RAD), Test Driven Development (TDD).  The typical release cycle has come down from 6 months to 6 weeks.

Such reduction in the window available for release has obviously created pressure on the entire ecosystem (called DEVOPS) that works towards a successful release, not only once, but release after release. Needless to say functions like Build Management, Release Management, Environment Management, Source Code Version control have gained tremendous importance in software life cycle. What was an additional responsibility for a Software Engineer is becoming a main stream dedicated function/role.

The time pressure warranted that many activities be automated so that CICD (Continuous Integration Continuous Deployment) model works effectively. Naturally there is an increased focus on tools like Maven / Jenkins / JIRA that have moved from “Good to Have” category to “Must Have” category.

The traditional CS & IT courses stop at training students in programming languages and databases but fail to build expertise in the DEVOPS areas. Most of them learn it on the go and naturally are not experts. The launch of this course is aimed at bridging this gap so that the industry gets expert DEVOPS engineers right at the word go.

Passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. This program is ideal for students with a passion for programming and software development.
