The Symbiosis University of Applied Sciences, Indore is the first Skill Development University with unmatched innovations in curricula suitable to generate a steady stream of skilled, industry-ready professionals for high growth and high employment sectors such as banking, financial services and insurance; retailing and e-commerce; computer science and information technology; and automobile engineering and mechatronics. In order to meet this requirement, the Symbiosis University of Applied Sciences, Indore was set up by the Government of Madhya Pradesh under the Madhya Pradesh Niji Vishwavidyalay Adhiniyam, 2007.
The University promotes critical thinking, project-oriented & case-based learning and focuses on practical skills required for the industry rather than dispensing theory-based inputs.
Founded in 2016, the Symbiosis University of Applied Sciences is a recent addition to the city of Indore, which is now the educational hub of Central India. The University with its sprawling campus, state-of-the-art facilities and laboratories as well as separate full-service boys and girls hostels makes it the first choice for students in this country.
Given the emphasis on Skills and the focus on outcome-based learning as envisioned by the National Skills Qualifications Framework, the University was the first to adopt this philosophy. I am sure that the Symbiosis University of Applied Sciences, Indore would provide future-ready professionals to industries around the world.
Prof. (Dr.) Vinith Kumar Nair is a visionary academic and industry expert, leading SUAS with a focus on bridging education and real-world business challenges. With extensive experience in teaching, consulting, research, and skilling, he has previously worked as a Professor and Associate Director at Amrita University. Before joining Amrita University, Prof. (Dr.) Nair served as a full professor in Marketing and held the role of Associate Dean-External Affairs at TKM Institute of Management in Kerala, India. Additionally, he worked as a visiting expert faculty at the National Institute of Fashion Technology, Kannur. With over 24 years of experience in management, business consultancy, and corporate training, he has played a pivotal role in fostering strong connections between the industry and academia. Prof. (Dr.) Nair has initiated new ventures and led organizational turnarounds, contributing significantly to the field. His consulting portfolio includes brands like Disney India, Muthoot Finance, and Geojit. A published researcher and award-winning educator, Prof. (Dr.) Nair actively contributes to digital governance, AI, and management education.
Prof. (Dr.) Nair has published in top class ABDC and Scopus indexed journals like Computers in Human Behaviour, Sustainability, Heliyon and Energy Reports.
