Adaptation of Solar Energy

The awareness program for the adaptation of solar energy has been organized by the School of Mechatronics Engineering, Symbiosis University of Applied Sciences Indore on 29th November 2021. The program was coordinated by Dr Mamta Thakur, Dr Sunil Anand and Ms Smita Prajapati.

The eye-opening session was conducted by Prof. Chetan Singh Solanki. He motivated students, staff and faculty to minimize energy consumption and become self-sustainable in terms of energy requirements. Prof Solanki is a professor at IIT Bombay and founder of the Energy Swaraj Foundation, he is also known by the Solar Man of India or Solar Gandhi. To spread the energy Swaraj mission Prof. Solanki is on Energy Swaraj Yatra in a solar bus for 11 years till 2030, for this he is currently on unpaid leave from IIT Bombay.  He also pledges not to go home for 11 years to make this movement a public movement towards the adaptation of 100% solar energy.

Students of all streams participated in the event and raised their queries in Q and A session. Students have also seen the solar bus, fully equipped with all domestic and official amenities and were surprised to see the complete solar-driven world of Prof. Solanki in a single Solar Bus.
