1.     Overview: 

The School of Media and Marketing at Symbiosis Institute for Applied Sciences successfully conducted a four-day Case Writing Workshop from April 2nd to 5th, 2025. The workshop aimed to equip academicians and industry professionals with the skills necessary to craft compelling business case studies suitable for publication and educational purposes.

2.     Workshop Structure:

 The workshop spanned 16 hours, structured as follows:

  • Opening Session: 1 hour
  • Instructional Sessions: 12 hours
  • Practicum Sessions: 2 hours
  • Valedictory Session: 1 hour

3.     Opening Session: 

The workshop commenced with an inaugural session featuring:

  • Opening Remarks: Debjani Mukherjee, Director I/C
  • Inaugural Address: (Dr.) Vinit K. Nair, Vice Chancellor
  • Introduction of Resource Persons: Rajlakshmi (Student of SMM)
  • Resource Persons: Geeta Mishra and Dr. Aishwarya Arora

4.     Instructional Sessions:

 The core instructional sessions covered:

  • Basics of Case Writing & Identifying Case Leads: Geeta Mishra
  • Preparing a Case Plan: Aishwarya Arora
  • Writing an Engaging Case Narrative: Geeta Mishra
  • Designing Teaching Notes & Learning Objectives: Geeta Mishra
  • Case Structuring & Formatting Guidelines: Geeta Mishra
  • Ethical Considerations in Case Writing: Aishwarya Arora
  • Case Submission & Review Process: Aishwarya Arora
  • Publication & Industry Collaboration Opportunities: Aishwarya Arora

5.     Practicum Sessions:

 To enhance practical understanding, 2 hours were dedicated to hands-on practicum sessions, allowing participants to apply learned concepts under the guidance of the resource persons

6.     Learning Highlights:

Participants gained insights into:

  • Identifying real-world case leads
  • Drafting and structuring impactful narratives
  • Designing teaching notes and learning outcomes
  • Understanding ethical norms and submission processes
  • Publishing opportunities and collaborations

They were also assigned case mentors to guide them toward fruitful publication outcomes.

The workshop concluded with a valedictory session that included:

  • Expression of gratitude and certificate distribution

10.  Conclusion:

The Case Writing Workshop successfully delivered on its objective to promote academic rigor and case research culture among participants. The practical insights, mentorship support, and engagement have laid a strong foundation for meaningful case development in collaboration with the School of Media and Marketing, SUAS.
