11. Brief Description:

The School of CSIT SUAS in collaboration with IIT Indore (MP) organized a six-day Bootcamp training program under a MeitY (Ministry of electronics and Information Technology) project SwaYaan capacity building for human resource development in unmanned aircraft systems (Drone and related technology). Titled “Bootcamp 6.0 on Advanced UAS Navigation:AI and Communication Techniques”

Inaugurated by Campus and School Director Prof Durgesh Mishra, Registrar and Dean of university. Welcome Note delivered by Prof Durgesh Mishra. Dr Neha Gupta highlighted the roadmap of the event throughout six days by various experts from IIT. Dr. Vaishali Joshi, Mr. Ankit Jain, Dr. Devendra Chouhan and Dr. Sarla More had association throughout the 6 days activities. Mr. Monty Sen, Mr. Monark and Mr. Salman had given contribution throughout. Event was attended by 136 students from SCSIT and 23 students from Sangam University Rajasthan. The Bootcamp featured various IIT professors, scholars and research assistants who conducted sessions ranging from basic drone technology to hands-on learnings, including practical demonstrations of drones at amphitheatre SUAS Campus. Sessions/Activities/Hands-on/Live-Practical done throughout six days are as follows:

 

Day-1: Prof. Sudhir Kamle explained and demonstrated the Drone Aerodynamics and Flight Mechanics technology. Also done real-time practical in the campus at amphitheatre. Dr. Devesh Mishra and Dr.Dibbendu Roy also highlighted the essentials of Drone technology.

Day-2: Dr. Saurabh Das explained Hyperspectral Remote Sensing for agriculture, Dr. Vivek Kanhangad deliver insightful lecture on Drone Image Analysis and Pattern Recognition.

Day-3: Dr. Unmesh Khati, introduced about remote sensing with drones and Map making with QGIS, hands-on session on QGIS done by Er. Anurupa. Dr. Sidharth Sharma demonstrated about Drone video analytics

Day-4: Mr. Sandeep Prajapati explains Drone-Technology-A-Revolution-in-Progress, Prof. Prabhat Kumar Upadhyay demonstrated UAV-Assited Reliable Wireless Communications, Prof. Abhirup Datta explained RF Sensing using Drones, Object Detection using Drones, and the students enjoyed the Hands-on Experience with Drones and Image Analytics

Day-5: Mr. Sandeep Prajapati explains Basics of Geofancing, Prof. Anand Parey explained about Noise control of drones and Noise measurement of drones. Dr. Sharad Kumar Singh described UAV Navigation Using Mixed Integer Linear Programming (MILP) also did hands-on Path Planning using MILP.

Day-6: Dr. Sumit Gautam talk about Energy Harvesting, Hands-on Drone Assembly by SwaYaan Team, At last day of bootcamp exam been conducted and evaluated. on summary of the event Feedback taken and Exam Result declared and Certificates’ were Distributed.

In the future, we plan to conduct more sessions focused on upskilling student, aligning these initiatives with the National Education Policy (NEP). Additionally, other university students been invited to the university for similar hands-on sessions, further enhancing their practical understanding of drone.
