Financial modeling with Spreadsheet: A Case Based Approach

A two day workshop on financial modeling with spreadsheet : a case based approach organized by School of Banking , Financial Services And  Insurance  was inaugurated at the college premises at the seminar hall 1  on 26^th March , 2019 by our honorable vice- chancellor  Dr. Sanjay Kumar in presence of  Mr. Ashish Singh , registrar , Dr. Prafulla Ranjan , Director BFSI . This two days’ workshop was conducted by Dr. Sunil Kumar, Dr. Kapil Shrimal and Dr. Ketan Mulchandani on 26^th march, 2019 and 27^th march, 2019.

Day 1: Tuesday, 26^th march 2019 –

The workshop started at 10:00 am with a group photo and proceeded with understanding the Basics of Spreadsheet and Financial Modelling. Dr. Sunil Kumar took the first session of the workshop and made everyone understand the various cases of weekly wage computation along with various questions. Time value of money cases were taught by Dr. Kapil Shrimal.  Dr. Sunil Kumar again took over the class and threw some light on financial modeling with case studies which related to comparison of two sales commission plan and conference budget etc. Finally the first day of the workshop ended with Dr. Ketan Mulchandani session on risk by showing live data and teaching students the Risk and Return Analysis.

Day 2:  Wednesday, 27^th march 2019 –

Second day’s workshop started at 9:45 am with Dr. Kapil Shrimal who gave students detailed knowledge of capital budgeting with two case studies which were related to investment decision. Later Dr. Sunil Kumar took over and made students various case studies related to savings bank account and investment analysis and project appraisal. Regression analysis was the last topic of the day, which was taught by Dr. Ketan Mulchandani.
