Introduction:

School of Computer Science and Information Technology arranged one day Industrial Visit for 1^st and 3^rd  Semester students to “INFOSYS INDORE DC” date 18 November 2022 for the better technical knowledge enhancement of students.

The visit is important especially in the field of Technology and Data Science as the practice of technology and data science has an inherent (and unavoidable) impact on society. Being India’s First Skill University it is our prime focus on practical and skills. This program can be a powerful tool to constitute a positive industrial climate and can range from basic understanding to development for students.

Overall, this visit aims to train the students to adapt to changing scenarios of technology. After the visit students can identify their efficiency and performance which is important for their career, improving work efficiency and confidence.

Purpose:

Industrial visits are an integral part of technical knowledge and acknowledgement of technology upgrades. The purpose of  this industrial visits for students was to provide technical and non-technical  knowledge with the industry and to understand the gap between theoretical and practical knowledge that could be beneficial in future.

This experience can help students to provide information regarding the functioning of various industries and associated problems and limitations.

Company Profile:

The new campus at Super Corridor Indore will acquire 140 acres of land. In the first phase of construction, the Infosys in super corridor Indore will make an investment of 335 crore to develop an area for 5,000 software professionals. Phase 1 of the development is likely to be  completed in the next 24 months. This development in Indore’s super corridor is transforming the city into one of the emerging region of Madhya Pradesh state.

Because of the establishment of Infosys in Indore, it’s going to be an emerging progress and the development of this campus will definitely going to be resourceful for software business.

What do We Learn?

There are various departments in the industry. INFOSYS  has a big training centre at Mysore campus  where new employees get trained and older ones learn new technologies. They also have a dedicated block for costumer care where the meetings, video conferences, lunch, discussions with clients takes place.

The few things special about Indore DC was that it focused on promoting heritage of Madhya Pradesh. It is a zero discharge campus which appropriately manages its waste and put it to best possible use. It is surrounded by around 10,000 trees all of  which are native to India.

Infosys, Indore DC campus, has made an internship opportunity available to students via https://infyspringboard.onwingspan.com/. There were questions from the students about the deployment of projects, career growth and project flow and distributions which were answered  by the attendees there and hence many queries of students were solved.

Conclusion: ­

From this visit, students got the information and practical knowledge about different departments/sectors in the IT Industry. As Infosys Indore is completely working on ameliorating itself. Students got rejuvenated after this visit. About 20 students of 1^th and 3^rd  Semester computer sciences and Information Technology and faculty mentors Dr. Devendra Chouhan and Dr. Kamal Kant Hiran benefited from this visit as they got a chance to discuss with the centre head and other engineers working at Infosys. Students learned the atmosphere and working culture which is shows the success of this visit.

Student Experience:

It was our immense pleasure to visit the dream company INFOSYS INDORE DC ON 18 NOVEMBER 2022 , FRIDAY.  Being a future Data Analyst it was a great opportunity for students of  B.Sc (Data Science) 1^st semester and  B. Tech 3^rd semester to visit the industry for and groom ourselves into corporate professionals and acquire more innovative skills.

Students visited the industry to interact and understand the latest technologies related to hardware and software. Infosys Indore campus is a state-of-the-art facility with a distinct style that blends local culture and aesthetics with several world-class features.

We wish that someday we are there working in such a big MNC and being called as ‘proud youth of India’.
