Republic Day Celebration

Symbiosis University celebrates 70th Republic Day with fervour and gaiety

Symbiosis University of Applied Sciences (SUAS) Indore celebrated the 70th Republic Day with full patriotic fervour and enthusiasm on 26 January 26, 2019. The celebration began with the flag hoisting ceremony by Vice Chancellor Air Commodore (Dr) Sanjay Kumar. This was followed by the National Anthem sung by all the students, faculty, staff, their family members and guests present on the occasion.

On a chilly January morning, the dynamic Vice Chancellor induced quite some warmth and gave goose bumps with his highly charged inaugural speech. He said, “I began my career with a pledge to serve the motherland. Today, we are together celebrating a Red Letter Day in the Indian history. I urge you all to think on what best you can do for the eternal glory of the national Tricolour. Aisa nasha ho jo tirange ki aan ke liye ho, aisa nasha ho jo maatrabhoomi ki shaan ke liye ho.”

This was followed by some scintillating performances by faculty and students alike. Patriotic songs and poems, dances and speeches mesmerised the audience. A dash of fervour was added with excerpts from the Ramayan, the Mahabharat and couplets from a poem of Rashtrakavi Ramdhari Singh Dinkar. Thereafter, the Vice Chancellor and Dean-Academics presented certificates for academic excellence to meritorious students. The vote of thanks was proposed by Dean-Academics Dr Anil Bisen.
