School of Banking, Financial Services and Insurance Management, Symbiosis University of Applied Sciences, Indore organized “A Workshop on Application of Research Methodology in Business Decision making” on 16th October 2021 from 11:00 am onwards.

The workshop was conducted Mr. Ritesh Srivastava, Senior Consultant, Ernst & Young Global Limited. Mr. Srivastava has an expert skillset for data science and Analytics, IT Strategy, Project Management, Monitoring & implementation. He has been a part of several national and international large-scale projects for Defence, Home Affairs, Corporate Affairs and Tourism.

Mr. Srivastava started the session by delivering information regarding data management (A kind of statistical framework). He covered different topics in this workshop such as: how to prepare the data and make it ready for statistical analysis, data science framework, how analytics work and helps in real-life scenarios, how to establish analytics infrastructure and discuss some real-time projects. He also explained about different types of Analytics spectrums like descriptive, diagnostic, predictive and prescriptive, then he described data analytics eco-system, data management which includes data quality, data cleaning and data verification. Mr. Srivastava explained basic concepts of statistics like standard deviation, normal distribution, hypothesis testing.

He also demonstrated the difference between artificial intelligence and machine learning. He also explained different types of data indicators.

It was an interactive and informative workshop that provides practical knowledge to the students and developed skills based on business decision making. They also expose themselves to some real-time project exposures.  The event was coordinated by Dr. Sunil Kumar, Faculty member of SBFSIM.
